Information for Parents
Change of Conditions
While aiming to keep the operation of the Nursery as described some changes may occur during each session. Once these changes have been ratified parents/carers will be given as much notice as possible of the changes.
Health
If your child is unwell and unable to attend the Nursery, please inform the Nursery Officer in Charge. It is in the interests of all parents/carers and children to prevent the spread of infectious diseases as far as it is possible. So parents/carers are asked to keep their child at home to safeguard the health of other children. If your child has had sickness or diarrhoea, please allow at least 48 hours symptom free to pass before returning to the Nursery.
If your child is slightly off-colour please inform a member of staff. If his/her condition deteriorates during the day, you will be notified.
If your child is absent due to illness you will be charged full fees.
Clothing
Please dress your child in comfortable clothes - try to avoid clothing that could prove difficult for your child to open/close and also provide him/her with appropriate outdoor clothes.
Toys
At Nursery we encourage non-aggressive play, so we ask you therefore not to allow your child to bring guns or swords. Your child may bring any other special toy if he/she wishes.
Meals and Snacks
A mid-morning snack is provided by the Nursery at a cost of 40p per day and this charge will be collected on a weekly basis. However, parents/carers are asked to provide healthy food for lunch and afternoon snack. The Nursery will encourage good table manners and a pleasant atmosphere where mealtimes provide an opportunity for the children to mix.
Children’s Developmental Records
Each child in their pre-school year will have a Developmental Record which will be kept by the staff to plan, observe and record all aspects of the child’s development. Parents have access to their own individual child’s records at any time and each child’s Development Records are treated as strictly confidential by the staff. Parents are encouraged to express their views, concerns/queries re: their child’s development and in all aspects of their care, with the Nursery Team. Our aim together, and in partnership with parents is to offer a high quality day care, in a safe, caring, fun and stimulating environment.
