Business and Management

The Business and Management section, based on the college's main campus at Gremista, Lerwick, offers a range of programmes in accounting, administration, business and management. These programmes are delivered in a variety of learning and teaching modes, including full-time, part-time, flexible, open learning and work-based.

Each programme has clear progression routes. The section is well resourced, and teaching staff provide a high level of first-line guidance and support to all learners. The learning and teaching spaces for all programmes are well-equipped and all learners have access to excellent computing facilities with Internet access from college computers.

The Business and Management section also offers work-based SVQ awards in Business and Administration and in Management. These qualifications can be studied at a range of levels and there are clear progression routes from one level to the next for candidates who wish to progress their SVQ studies. The SVQ programmes are undertaken by candidates in their own workplaces with regular support from college assessors.
