Entry Requirements:
HNC: 1 appropriate Higher; NC in Business or equivalent; or relevant workplace experience
HND: 2 appropriate Highers; NC in Business or equivalent; or relevant workplace experience
COURSE SUMMARY:
The HNC/D Accounting programme covers a wide range of accounting concepts and provides candidates with an excellent grounding in the principles of financial and management accounting using manual and computerised approaches.
COURSE CONTENT:
HNC: 12 credit course
Recording Financial Information; Preparing Final Accounts; Financial Accounting Software; Cost Accounting; Management Accounting using Information Technology, plus other subjects from a range of options including units in Business Law, Marketing, Human Resource Management and Information Technology.
HND: 30 credit course
Management Accounting for Planning and Control; Auditing; Principles of Income Tax; and Financial Reporting and Analysis. These modules build on the skills and knowledge acquired at HNC level, plus other subjects from a range of options.
HND optional modules: Marketing - An Introduction; Economics - An Introduction; Managing People in Organisations; Spreadsheets, IT Applications Software; Business Law; and Business Statistics

HOW WILL I STUDY?
HNC/HND: All subjects on the programme are internally assessed on an ongoing basis including Group Award Graded Units towards the end of the HNC and HND courses, which comprise closed book examinations incorporating many aspects of the overall programmes.
