Professional Development Awards (PDAs)
COURSE INFORMATION:

Entry Requirements: 1 appropriate Higher or relevant work place experience. NC in Business or equivalent.
COURSE SUMMARY:
PDAa are available in Financial Accounting and Management Accounting. These 'mini' HE Accounting awards are made up of four HN units and can be completed as stand-alone awards, or can be built on and can lead to full HNC awards. PDAs are nationally recognised qualifications, which can help to enhance the career prospects of candidates. Attendance is required at college classes on a part-time basis.
COURSE CONTENT:
Each PDA is comprised of Higher National units including:
- PDA in Financial Accounting: Recording Financial Information; Preparing Final Accounts; and Using Financial Accounting Software
- PDA in Management Accounting: Cost Accounting and Management Accounting using Information Technology

HOW WILL I STUDY?
All subjects are internally assessed on an ongoing basis. Students are expected to make regular use of the college’s library facilities for research and study.

Academic: Completion of the PDA in Financial Accounting or Management Accounting can provide entry to HNC Accounting.
