COURSE SUMMARY:
Learn how to successfully support end users and troubleshoot desktop environments running on the Microsoft Windows® operating system.
Two separate awards are available depending on the assessment method taken. These are:
MCDST: 2 Microsoft online exams
PDA Desktop Support: 6 short theory tests plus a series of practical troubleshooting exercises
COURSE CONTENT:
This award is available as a part time practical classroom-based course comprising two separate Microsoft courses: Supporting Users and Troubleshooting a Microsoft Windows XP Operating System Supporting users; and Troubleshooting Desktop Applications on a Microsoft Windows XP Operating System.
Areas of study include:
- Installing a Windows Desktop Operating System
- Managing and troubleshooting access to resources and application security settings
- Configuring and troubleshooting: hardware devices and drivers, applications, issues related to usability and connectivity for applications
- Troubleshooting network protocols and services
- Resolving issues related to application customisation.
