Vocational Pathway Sound Engineering

COURSE INFORMATION:

Place of Study: Anderson High School, Lerwick

Course time: Alternate Thursdays over 1 year

For: S3/S4/S5 pupils

COURSE SUMMARY:

This 80-hour course will provide experience in installing and operating sound engineering equipment in a variety of settings.  This practical experience will be underpinned by a study of the science behind the use of technology.

Course content: Introduction to Cubase Recording Software; Recording Audio; Audio Editing; Intro to Midi; Intro to Virtual Instruments; Sampler Basics, Studio Set Up.

PROGRESSION:

This course may provide candidates with opportunities to progress to an SVQ/NVQ in Sound Engineering or a full-time National Certificate course in Sound Engineering at mainland college.
