Renewable Energy

Research into the current local market demonstrates there is potential for the number of renewable energy installers to grow, given the increasing demands for domestic micro-renewables. Currently there are only a small group of approved installers of domestic micro-renewables.

Given the evidence of high fuel poverty in Shetland, if we are to be proactive in addressing this issue, there needs to be a more focused, achievable approach to meeting the local needs. Shetland College propose to offer and support courses to help address the need for skills in the renewable energy sector.

Courses will be available for academic session 2010/11.
