Good Food is Fun to Cook
On Tuesday 14 September, as part of the Anderson High School Health Week, 10 Secondary 2 pupils and 8 Secondary 3 pupils took part in two Healthy Eating Workshops at the Hospitality Section at the Bruce kitchens .
Sessions were planned and delivered by lecturer Glynn Wright along with the help of SVQ Level 3 Hospitality students in their final year, as a project to develop their supervisory skills, incorporating Curriculum for Excellence and Citizenship.
Pupils made a selection of dishes including Tandoori Chicken, Tandoori Pasta with natural yogurt, Vegetable Couscous and Tattie Wedges. S2 pupils, Sarah Burgess and Maelyn Marriner, said "it was great fun and our friends enjoyed helping us eat our healthy dishes at lunchtime!"
Lecturer, Glynn Wright said "more schools contact is planned for the future after the success of the ZETCHEF cookery competition, with last year's winner joining us for a day nearer to Christmas to make sweets and cakes."
