Online Resources
As part of the UHI, Shetland College students and staff can access the wide range of Electronic Resources available on the UHI website. These include full-text journal and newspaper articles, image galleries, maps, reports and a wide range of electronic books. The vast majority are accessed using your standard UHI username and password.
These resources can normally be accessed from any computer with an internet connection. If you need any help with using any of the E-Resources, contact the Librarian
Library Catalogue The UHI catalogue contains details of the library stock held at Shetland College and at all the UHI partner libraries.It also contains entries for E-Books and E-Journals which will link you to these resources via a UHI login page - just use your usual student number and password. UHI E-Books The UHI collection continues to grow. All the available titles can be found via the library catalogue. You can see all the titles as a collection here. Although these titles have been added to support Higher Education courses, they are available to view by all students registered with UHI partner colleges.
UHI E-Resources The UHI collection of e-resources including thousands of full-text journal and newspaper articles, image galleries, maps, reports, reference books, etc.
E-Books for FE (JISC) A collection of over 3,000 E-books specially collected for Further Education. This is a national scheme, put together to ensure that FE students were getting the same access to e-books as HE students. The titles have been selected particularly to support FE courses.
