The Shetland Islands are made up of a group of just over 100 islands, 15 of which are inhabited. Shetland College UHI’s main campus is based in Lerwick, Shetland’s main town and the most northerly commercial harbour in the UK. To ensure we meet the needs of learners throughout Shetland the college also has Learning Centres in the: North Isles, North Mainland, Whalsay, West Mainland, Burra and the Ness. Shetland is a beautiful, dynamic and energetic place to study and live with a growing population, expanding work and education opportunities and vibrant social and cultural scene. The spectacular scenery and wild landscapes provide unspoilt locations for many outdoor activities including; diving, sailing, sea kayaking, coasteering, fishing, walking and climbing. Shetland has been recognised for it's incredible landscape with National Nature Reserve sites and European Geopark status as well as many world renowned archaeological sites, ancient buildings and an abundance of wildlife on your doorstep.
