- Lerwick, the main town in Shetland is where the main Bus Station for the island is located. Bus links are available seven days a week to all corners of the mainland including routes to the main ferry terminals and onwards to the outer islands.
- Northlink ferries sail from Lerwick to and from Aberdeen and Kirkwall in Orkney every night. This is a 12-14 hour overnight crossing with various accommodation options to suit your budget.
- The main airport in Shetland is Sumburgh Airport, where Flybe operates flight’s daily to various Scottish destinations.
- Shetland College is situated on the outskirts of Lerwick, a 20-25 minutes walk from Lerwick. A local bus service to Lerwick operates during the day.
- Shetland Island’s Council operates a network of Inter Island Ferries which operate throughout the year, making it possible to travel between the islands as a foot passenger or with a vehicle. With 190 crossings a day it’s as easy as hopping on a bus!
