In the Outdoor Capital of the UK, your learning opens up new environments

  • Lochaber College UHI was founded in 1998 and is now celebrating its tenth year.
  • The Fort William campus recently doubled in size to offer more facilities to students, business and the local community.
  • There are more than 1,000 students studying at Lochaber College UHI across its five campuses.
  • The college has just launched its first degree, the BA Adventure Tourism Management.
  • With its location in the Outdoor Capital of the UK, the college offers courses in outdoor activities and rural skills-based subjects, as well as a range of courses from care to engineering.
  • The Lochaber area covers more than 2,000 square miles in the Western Highlands of Scotland and has a popluation of around 19,000.
  • As the Outdoor Capital of the UK, the area is home to big events such as the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup and an annual mountain film festival.
