What is special about this course?
This course offers an excellent opportunity for aspiring engineers of the future that wish to have a career with the Engineering Construction Industry.
The scholarship programme is a two-year course that will support learners to pursue a full-time, off the job programme in Electrical Maintenance.
During their studies scholars will acquire nationally recognised engineering qualifications as well as receiving other skills training relevant to their chosen discipline.
4 National 5’s including Mathematics or an engineering qualification at SCQF level 5.
- National Certificate in Engineering Systems at SCQF Level 6.
- SVQ Performing Engineering Operations at SCQF Level 5.
- Health and Safety Passport.
All equipment will be provided.
How will I study my course?
- Full Time
The majority of teaching is expected to be face-to-face.
How long will my course last?2 Year
The course is full time, 5 days per week. Holidays will be as timetabled within UHI Shetland’s academic calendar. A minimum of 35 hour work placement will be arranged during the programme.
How will I be assessed?
The course is assessed with a combination of written assessments, assignments, and observation of practical tasks. Assessment is ongoing throughout the duration of the course.
In addition, scholars will undertake and be assessed against an ECITB Digital Passport.
