Creative Practitioner Upskilling SCQF Level 6

What is special about this course?

This course will equip Creative Practitioners with a broad range of practical tools to enhance their professional skillset, covering self-employment skills, health and safety, copyright for creative practitioners, and project management. The module will also cover creative opportunities for practitioners, planning a creative workshop, accessibility awareness, and monitoring and evaluating an arts project. The module centres on online content developed by Shetland Arts with contributions from a wide range of Shetland based creative practitioners. Additional support is provided by video conference seminars. Assessment is by means of ‘real world’ practical exercises. All material will be accessible online from outside Shetland.

Entry requirements

No formal requirements, but students will need a reasonable level of written English ability to successfully complete the modules’ assignments.

9 Days

9 two hour VC sessions taught weekly as evening classes, supported by about 24 houses of VLE mediated and self directed learning and assessment

How will I be assessed?

    1. Completion of ‘real world’ administrative tasks such as tax return, risk assessment, copyright registration
    2. A 750-word creative project proposal
