Step forward with Shetland College UHI!

As a partner of the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI), Shetland College is able to provide an increasing range of educational opportunities at both further and higher education levels for the Shetland community. Whether you are a recent school leaver, an adult returner, in employment and wishing to undertake part-time study, we hope the college has a programme which meets your learning needs.

Online Guide

Our extensive portfolio of programmes is designed to help each of our learners to develop and improve their skills, and to help prepare for future life and work as well as for further study.

Most of our courses provide opportunities to progress to the next level of study should learners wish to do so, and some of our programmes are designed specifically to lead directly into degree-level study, either here at Shetland College or at mainland universities.

We also offer a range of work-related courses which can be undertaken within the workplace with little or no college attendance. In addition, some of our courses are delivered in a blended learning format, which means that much of these can be studied outwith college in an online format.

Should you have any questions relating to our portfolio of programmes, our very experienced teaching teams, and guidance and support staff are available to help you make your course choice.

We know that choosing the right course can sometimes be a difficult decision, as is deciding whether studying at Shetland College is right for you. Our website is full of information about the wide range of courses on offer, what support you can expect while studying with us, and what college life is like. This guide aims to make accessing that information as straightforward as possible.

There is lots of additional information throughout the site - feel free to browse to get a complete picture of what Shetland College has to offer. If you wish to return to the online guide you can do so via the homepage or by clicking on a return button.
