The 3 week Introduction to Commercial Fishing course has been designed to give new entrants a basic knowledge and an awareness of a number of different activities that would be found operating upon commercial fishing vessels.

The course also includes as part of the syllabus the 4 one day mandatory courses - Sea Survival, Health and Safety, First Aid and Fire Fighting which are a legal requirement for any new fishermen entering the industry and going to sea.

The course is fully funded through the Seafish Industry Authority and is a pre-entry requirement for the Modern Apprenticeship in Fish Catching.
