Dr Beth Mouat appointed Dean of Research and Innovation at UHI
The University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) has appointed Dr Beth Mouat as its Dean of Research and Innovation.
Dr Mouat, who is based in Shetland, started in the role on Monday 20 April. She will work with UHI academic partners, deans, research leaders and professional services colleagues to strengthen research activity and impact across the partnership, and to lead development of the university’s research and innovation strategy, including preparation for the REF 2029 submission.
A highly experienced researcher and research leader, Dr Mouat brings a strong track record in marine science and applied research. She was previously Director of Research, Enterprise and Impact at UHI Shetland, where she provided strategic leadership for research, knowledge exchange and innovation, working with interdisciplinary teams, and building impactful partnerships with industry, government and communities at local, national and international levels. Dr Mouat said:
