Checking a fish's gills for signs of disease - one of the topics covered in the Introductory Fish Health course.

Both courses have been developed by the Centre's staff to meet the needs of the fish farming industry in Shetland and Scotland.

The first course - Fish Health - Introductory - covers a wide range of fish stock health issues and is intended to cover the training needed for the Scottish Salmon Producers Organisation (SSPO) Code of Good Practice for Scottish Finfish Aquaculture (CoGP).

The other course - Introduction to Fish Farm Containment- covers a wide range of topics relevant to setting up and maintaining aquaculture facilities to prevent the loss of stock.

Both courses last one day and neither requires any prior knowledge.

Further information about these courses are available via the above links, or on the Centre's Courses page.
