Due to the ongoing Covid restrictions it has not been possible to hold in-person prize giving events for the last two years, so the prizes were awarded in an online ceremony which can be viewed on Shetland UHI’s website, Facebook and Youtube channels.

The awards spanned a range of subjects which included: computing, hospitality, business, construction, english speakers of other languages, creative industries, engineering, aquaculture, fishing, engineering and navigation.

The Shetland UHI prizegiving ceremony amalgamated the prizes previously awarded by the former NAFC Marine Centre UHI, Shetland College UHI, and Train Shetland.

“Prizegiving is an opportunity for us all to celebrate excellence and to recognise achievement. Not only to celebrate the prizewinners but to publicly celebrate the achievements of all the students who have attended the college.”

Shetland UHI very much appreciates the generous support of the trusts and businesses and acknowledges the importance of these prizes in our students’ lives.

Shetland UHI would like to sincerely thank Rory Gillies of Shetland Flyer Aerial Media who donated his time and expertise to film and edit the award ceremony. Without his extraordinary gift, the prizegiving ceremony would not have been possible. You can also view individual photographs of our prizewinners here.
