UHI Shetland students celebrate big night at ALBAs
UHI Shetland students enjoyed a successful night at the annual ALBAs, the prestigious Lantra Scotland’s Awards for Land-based and Aquaculture Skills, held on Thursday 6 March at the Crieff Hydro.
Scoring a one-two in the Aquaculture Student of the Year category, Craig Findley was named Aquaculture Student of the Year, with Finley Forwood coming in as runner-up. Both of these finalists’ study with UHI Shetland; Craig, based in Strathcarron, Wester Ross, is undertaking his Diploma in Aquaculture Production at SCQF7, and Finley, based in Shetland, is currently working towards his SVQ4 in Aquaculture Management.
Billy Anderson, from the Isle of Harris, who recently completed his SCQF Level 9 in Aquaculture Management at UHI Shetland was runner-up in the Higher Education category.
Head of Marine Sciences at UHI Shetland Stuart Fitzsimmons, said:
