Brama brama
This fish is widely distributed throughout the world, although its occurrence around Shetland is considered to be quite low.
This is a fairly deep water species with a range down to 1000m, which occasionally comes close to shore.
This species is classed as an opportunistic feeder, feeding on small fish, cephalopods and other small invertebrates.
