Continuing Professional Development
The MA Art and Social Practice programme has modules which social art practitioners may be interested in undertaking individually to aid their reflective and professional development. These modules are delivered completely online using MS Teams. Students registered on individual modules will have access to Brightspace, our virtual learning environment, and library resources. Nicola Naismith leads both these modules and has extensive experience
Reflective and Ethical Practitioner (20 credits)
This module provides opportunities for students to explore a range of reflective practice methods and use them to consider ethical issues pertinent to social art practices. In fortnightly seminars students have the opportunity to discuss the module reading in relation to their individual and unique social art practices. Tutorial support is available to help each student plan, develop and complete the two module assignments which are:
- Reflective Journal
- Reflective and Ethical Framework
Student testimonial:
“The Reflective and Ethical Practitioner module helped me to develop a better awareness of my practice and of my role as a socially engaged arts practitioner. I enjoyed the seminar discussions with my peers and experimented with different tools for recording and reflecting. This learning process has gradually filtered into other areas of my life and practice and helped me feel more confident, slowing down and listening with genuine curiosity”.
