PUBLIC NOTICE OF INTENDED PROCUREMENT

CLEANING SERVICES CONTRACT

UHI Shetland will be inviting tenders from suitably qualified cleaning service providers for the provision of comprehensive cleaning services across the multiple college locations in Shetland.

Contract Title: Cleaning Services for UHI Shetland college facilities

Contract Reference: CS2026001

Contract Duration: 3 years with option to extend for up to 2 additional 1-year periods

Contract Start Date: 1 August 2026

  • Scalloway Campus, Port Arthur, Scalloway
    • Main Building
    • John Goodlad Centre
    • Port Arthur House

KEY DATES

Publication on Public Contracts Scotland: Monday 2 February 2026

Site Visit for Potential Tenderers: Monday 16 February 2026

Deadline for Tender Submissions: Friday 13 April 2026 at 12:00 noon

Anticipated Contract Award: July 2026

SCOPE OF SERVICES

The contract will include:

  • Daily cleaning of teaching spaces, offices, toilets, and common areas
  • Provision of all cleaning equipment, chemicals, and consumable supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels)
  • Twice-yearly deep cleaning during holiday periods
  • Compliance with all health and safety regulations including COSHH
  • PVG certification for staff working at specified locations

This procurement will be conducted as an Open Procedure in accordance with the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014.
