Biography

Lauren has a background in heritage, archaeology and academia, having previously completed a PhD in Bronze Age Archaeology with the University of Manchester. She moved to Shetland in 2010 and has since been involved in a diverse range of roles, including positions with Shetland Amenity Trust and Shetland Arts Development Agency and involvement in the Promote Shetland contract, alongside commercial Archaeological work and even a stint in the oil and gas support industry.

More recently her career has focussed on marketing and communications, and she specialises in strategic communication planning, community engagement and the use of digital platforms.

She is currently employed as a Partnership Officer for Shetland Islands Council, supporting the Shetland Community Planning Partnership.
